What is Mecca Sic Bo?
Sic Bo is an ancient Chinese game of pure chance with no strategy or skill needed and played with three dice. Players bet on the outcome of the game and that’s all there is to Sic Bo. Pragmatic Play decided to release their own version of the game with Mega Sic Bo in 2020.
At first, the table may seem complicated but it's actually quite easy. Every possible combination on the dice is shown on the table along with the payout odds which is extremely helpful. Once all bets have been placed, the three dice are rolled by the dealer using an electronic dice roller.
How to play Mega Sic Bo
There’s no skill or strategy in Mega Sic Bo as it’s all up to the dice. You have options to bet on what number shows up on one, two or three of the dice. There is also the option to bet on the total that the dice add up to. All possible results for Mega Sic Bo are on the table.
The first row on the bottom shows the single number bets. These are bets from any number 1 or 6 coming up on the next three dice. If your number comes up twice, then you get paid 2:1 and if it comes up three times, then you’ll get paid 3:1.
Mega Sic Bo has 52 betting positions and each game round has the chance for betting options to be randomly selected to gain mega multipliers with a chance to win up to 1,000x your stake.
Moving up to the next two rows, these are combination bets. Here, you bet on the chance of two specific numbers appearing on the three dice with higher payouts. The third row from the bottom shows the total bets so players bet on the total bet of the number appearing on all three dice.
The top row contains specific bets for doubles, triples or any triple. In the corner, there are two special bets that are based on adding up the total of all three dice. You don’t bet on a specific sum, instead, there are small bets between 4 to 10 and big bets between 11 to 17.
At the bottom of the screen, there’s a display of the history of the recent rounds of play. However, every roll of the dice is independent and cannot predict future rolls.
Is Mega Sic Bo worth playing?
Meca Sic Bo and Dragon Tiger Live must be shot in the same studio because the outfits are identical and you often see the same hosts appearing in both. Whilst both are entertaining, Mega Sic Bo is definitely a live casino game that has more interaction.
Just like Dragon Tiger Live, the presentation of this game is respectable with a focus on the simple aspects done well. The background is a mixture of red and gold to create something elegant as well. All of the presenters are female with red cheongsam dresses to fit the aesthetic of the origins.
Amazingly, the games only last a minute or so with players being able to dive straight into the next one. There’s not a whole lot of interaction from the host but that’s not what this game is going for. Unfortunately, most of these games are shot in the same studio so there is often other audio heard in the background which can get frustrating at times.
That being said, Mega Sic Bo is an easy dice game that is fun to pick up and the presentation is done to a high standard from Pragmatic Play. If you love straightforward live casino games without overbearing hosts, then Mega Sic Bo is definitely worth a go.
